Unto the Anvil of War

Last week, I picked up the Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth boxed game (like every other Warhammer 40k/30k fan it seems). I immediately assembled one of these fantastic miniatures and decided to test the Salamanders colour scheme. So far so good methinks! The green looks good too. At first I wanted a camo-like green but in the end I went for the standard Warpstone Glow and Moot Green recipe. I also added a lot of small scratches to his armour to give him a rough appearance.

Below some more pictures! I'm eager to paint the Contemptor Dreadnought but my Astral Claws are taking over my paint desk right now (I will fill you guys in on the next post).

Enjoy!

  1. I like the 30K better than the 40K, mostly because of the 'Heresy' novels, I guess :-). Time for GW to deliver some miniatures. This is a great first step. And what a great Salamander. Vibrant colours, great shoulderpiece. Love it!

    1. Thanks King! I think GW/Forge World hit the jackpot with the Horus Heresy product line. Really looking forward to the future releases!
