Kill Team Madness

A friend and I played some Kill Team last Sunday. We were a bit rusty but we managed to play not one, but two matches! I brought Necrons along this time (a failed army project from a few years ago). First match was against Chaos Space Marines with cultist and Tyranids for the second match. The necron list did pretty well considering that it was made in one evening and I did not bother to look for a good list on the internet. Since the necrons were facing a horde of cultist I knew they needed a higher body count and close combat specialists. While the Flayed Ones did not look all that impressive they got the job done; distracting, keeping cultists busy and grabbing objectives while the others defended their own objectives and shooting those meatsacks from a distance. Plenty of fun! The list is as follows:
  • 1 Immortal with Gauss Blaster (leader)
  • 1 Immortal with Tesla Carbine (veteran)
  • 1 Deathmark with Synaptic Disintegrator (sniper)
  • 1 Necron Warrior
  • 4x Flayed Ones
The second match against the Nids was a quicky but a fun one. We did not have any objectives to grab but pitted our teams against each other. The necrons held out pretty well against the Nids because I thought that they would surely be slaughtered in close combat. Again, the Flayed Ones proved their worth and a lowly Necron Warrior who just did not want to die. Another thing worth noting though; my friend's dice rolls were horrid at the end so that did not help him either.

These matches were great fun and got our Warhammer juices flowing again. We'll hope to play again in a few months so we have some time to prepair. I was thinking of trying out a T'au kill team too for the next time! In the meantime I'll paint these Necrons up nicely since they did a good job. And don't worry, I won't forget my Eldar, they will get some love too!

Exciting times! Hope it won't take me months to post this time.

Anyway, 'till next time!
